"Named for Keith Raymond McDonald (b. 1950), an expert on the taxonomy and identification of many faunal groups, especially frogs, and for the last 15 years, an avid plant collector. He has increased our knowledge of Queensland plant species considerably through his many high-quality specimens, and has discovered or rediscovered a number of species."
