Etymology

"The location of the type of this new hybrid occurs on the ancestral lands of the Yirrganydji people. For these traditional custodians of the narrow coastal strip from Cairns to Port Douglas, the epithet <i>Dungarra</i> means, ‘belonging to Machans Beach area’."
