Introduction

Australian specimens previously identified as Characoma (= Garella) nilotica (Rogenhofer, 1882) or Garella rotundipennis Walker [1863] are this species (Holloway 2003); G. nilotica (Rogenhofer, 1892) and G. rotundipennis are omitted from the Australian fauna.
