Introduction
Storr (1991) revised Lerista microtis (Gray 1845), raising Lerista microtis arenicola to species level and recognising two additional subspecies, Lerista microtis intermedia and Lerista microtis schwaneri. This arrangement was reassessed by Farquhar et al. (2024) who used molecular and morphological data to demonstrate that all subspecies of Lerista microtis comprise a single morphologically variable species.
