Subfamily TAGIADINAE
Introduction
Li et al. (2019) proposed changes to the higher classification and relationships of the Hesperiidae based on phylogenomic analysis (12,618 nuclear genes) and mitogenomes (~10,663 bp). Their genomic data suggest that the family Hesperiidae consists of nine subfamilies. The Pyrginae, as defined by Warren et al. (2009), emerged as polyphyletic, with three distinct groups, which they treated as three separate subfamilies: (1) Pyrginae sensu stricto, (2) Tagiadinae stat. rev. and (3) Pyrrhopyginae reinst. stat. The Tagiadinae were considered to contain three tribes: Tagiadini Mabille, 1878, Celaenorrhinini Swinhoe, 1912, and Netrocorynini Grishin, 2019 tribe nov. The newly proposed tribe Netrocorynini (type genus: Netrocoryne C. & R. Felder, [1867]), was diagnosed according to sequences of protein-coding regions only. Presumably most Australian taxa now belong in the Netrocorynini since the Pyrginae in which they were previously classified are largely restricted to South America.
